The last 4 Christmas Days we celebrated in Madrid, Spain. We were blessed to be able to have Christina fly back to Spain to be with us. We also greatly enjoyed Ruthie & Brian with Sara being with us and my niece and her husband Nanette and Aaron celebrate with us along with their two adorable daughters.
This was the first Christmas (2011) in 5 years that we were able to celebrate in our home in Waxahachie, Texas. Cyndie’s brother Gary, who lives north of Fort Worth, and our two sons and their spouses and children (Paul & Zhaleh with Jack and Audrey, Midlothian, Texas; Jonathan & Brenda with Jacob, Emily and Lucas, Waxahachie) all came over on Christmas Day and we had a wonderful, joyous time of celebration! The cooks out-did themselves again. It was a true joy to be able to enjoy 5 of our 7 grandchildren. Cyndie, Santa’s #1 helper filled the stockings and exercised other grandmotherly privileges to make the maximum out of the very first Christmas spent with 3 of our 5 grandchildren here.
On another note, Ruthie’s 2-year old Sara (soon to be 3) expressed that she had not celebrated Christmas yet since she had not traveled to Madrid this Christmas to abuela’s (Cyndie) house. Both Christmases in her short life had always been spent with us in Madrid. We missed you too, Sara.
