It was really great to be back at our home church of University Assembly of God in Waxahachie, Texas. Thank you Doctor John Wycoff for allowing me to share in your auditorium Sunday School class. What a great bunch of old friends and wonderful memories. This was the church where we experienced Holy Ghost revival back in our high school days – revivals where we learned to intercede in prayer and walk in the supernatural with signs & wonders, miracles of healing, visions and divine calling to the ministry and missions. That small youth group produced many pastors & missionaries of which at least 4 of us are nearing or in our 40th year of pastoral ministry and/or missionary service.
We appreciate all of the great men and women of God who have served University A/G Church in the past and consistently kept it one of the top missions giving churches in the North Texas District as well as numerous outreach ministries at home. We are very excited at the vision and direction which our new pastors Mike Eddy and his lovely wife JaLayne & family are giving the church. We love the return to the altars, prayer for the sick, and allowing the Holy Spirit the liberty that He needs to move in sovereign ways in and among the people. Unfortunately the change of hour, rain, and Spring Break took its toll on attendance but it did not change the spirit in the service and receptiveness of the people. Numerous friends in the congregation on Sunday had shared with us the extended times of supernatural manifestations and the outstanding moving of the Holy Spirit on Southwestern A/G University campus in the late 60’s. Teachers/professors, pastors, administrators and dedicated lay people whose hearts still throb for missions and reaching the lost!
Thank you University Assembly for being such a wonderful home church. Thanks for believing in us and supporting us with your prayers and finances for 44 years!
